Gloria Claessen

Gloria Claessen is the Director of RICO Training, Processes & Strategies. Her consulting and training experiences range across the public, community and private sector. She is a skilled facilitator and trainer and has provided consultative processes for specific client and stakeholder groups. The range of organisations and groups she has worked with include the Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA), the Catholic Education Office, Lifeline Canberra, the Cancer Council ACT and Good Grief, primary schools, secondary schools and universities. These diverse situations reflect the breadth of her expertise and knowledge and her capacity to work and lead in complex, high profile and potentially volatile situations.

Gloria's expertise is in identifying and targeting challenges and issues for individuals and organisations in order to develop and facilitate processes which address those challenges and issues. Her professional experience and studies give her a unique blend of HRM and HRD perspectives and skills. Her strength lies in being an effective catalyst for change through engagement at all levels of the organisation. She has a passion for fostering resilience in individuals and their environments.

Gloria has designed and delivered a range of training and learning experiences for participants with varied interests and backgrounds. These experiences include education in: Life Skills; Communication Skills; Conflict Resolution; Mental Health First Aid; Resilience; Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention; The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI); as well as processes for developing leaders, coaching, strategic planning, articulation of vision and mission and building effective teams. She has also designed and facilitated processes to facilitate change and development in the individual, communal and organisational contexts.

Gloria holds a Master Degree in Education, a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Development Education and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment. Gloria is an accredited and highly experienced facilitator of Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI ®) applications, including the new Management Team Roles Indicator (MTR-i). She is also a Master Trainer in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and associated programs aimed at promotion and enhancement of individual and organisational well being and performance.
